What's the max file size for videos / mp4 files?
If the limit isn't too small then was thinking I might upload some of my short animations / vids.
good question… (look in the configuration) guess video aren't set yet. Considering the size of video, that may be a problem pretty fast as the forum is limited in space and PHPBB remove uploads once full.
Edit: I added bbcode for including video without uploading them to the forum

What's the bbcode? Can you give an example of how to use it?
And do you mean for it to to display a video that's hosted on another site?
In your following-post I see a black square, was that supposed to show a video? If so, I just see a black square but no video shown or playing. *See Edit note below:
*Edit: Okay, the example video is showing for me now. I see it's hosted on Youtube.

I'm seeing black box too, but I'm using Tor to visit this place, so no complains.

oh, wait. it doesn't work because google want to track me before showing the video and tracking is disabled in my browser. Guess no YouTube video for people with any bit of privacy.

Yes, I see your example vids are hosted on YouTube, so of course that won't be viable to use on the site here for sexy vids.
Maybe another / better solution can be found in future.
I think for now I'll avoid posting any vids here and will stick to just sharing some of my 3D art instead.
Thanks for trying though.

One probably could just share YT link directly, and attach a preview image. If he's brave enough.
Not sure many people could publish such er... sensitive content on YT to bring it here.
In any case, external image links could live very short life, and will be likely outdated soon.
I hope once you'll be able to donatize board and just buy more powerful hosting.

By the way, it may be very useful to replace full inlined images to small ~200x200 previews still, to save bandwidth: pages with full images are loading sometimes slow, and with growing count of watchers it could be once a problem.
On another side, If user is seeing a message with small attachment previews, it could open only things he wants separately, or just skip to next message. And this will enhance chatting experience around the images - text won't be splattered around dozen of screen scrolls.
When Roriwalrus met ATF exodus wave, their site almost stopped loading, as I suspect, because of inlined images in messages, and also the same thing is happening with the ATF regularly, while their hosting powers are much larger.

Yes, a 'thumbnail' / preview image would be much preferable for me as well when I post some of my artwork / images.
As it is for now, with the inline, I think it takes up too much space and could also add to the bandwidth usage and perhaps slow down the site or loading of some pages as well (maybe more so over time as the site grows).
